Diagnosis back from the vet - Tiggy has a large sarcoma in her jaw :( And at 18, she'd be unlikely to survive surgery even if it hadn't metastasised yet ( Read more... )

We've been a bit worried about Tiggy, the eldest, crankiest, and deafest of the Autonomous Flea Habitats we have here - she's been losing weight, not eating, getting very wobbly, and her breath was so bad I could smell when she came into the room. Purrdence just got off the phone sobbing - yet another school has stabbed her in the back by closing down their Japanese department. There reasoning this time was a doozy - the student's ENGLISH scores weren't high enough, so in response they're ending all Japanese lessons. ugh. cat farts are bad enough at the best of times, but when they're also loud enough to drown out the television from two rooms away.... stop running, Jiji, we know it was you.

Miralda the cat is back home - apparently she was a model patient, which is just as well. I can't see either of the other two putting up with the examination, shaving, or surgical prep. Tiggy would have snarled and probably bitten, and Jiji would have just struggled violently on principle ( Read more... )

Home from Swancon, which, unfortunately, I was too ill to enjoy as much as I would have liked. I'll put together a longer post soon. Then we got home to find one of the cats with her face swollen like a pumpkin, and had to race her around to the vet.
